WeAreWaterloo – Waterloo food festival

Waterloo Food Month is an annual celebration of local food and drink businesses in the South London district from which it takes its name. The event is run by We Are Waterloo: a Business Improvement District focused on creating a safer and more pleasant trading environment for local businesses. They do this by promoting the area to visitors whilst maintaining Waterloo’s individuality and unique character.

For the second year running, Soapbox were delighted to assist We are Waterloo in promoting the 2017 Food Month with a new brand and event materials. We designed a bold, unique and exciting visual identity for the event which stood out in the streets, enticing passers-by to get involved, and also complemented their core value of individuality.

To promote sites involved in the festival, we produced environmental graphics to be placed around Waterloo. This included a giant cublerone (a four-sided standing banner) that could be seen from all angles. We also created graphic-led banners to hang on railings, and floor stickers that were placed outside participating local businesses. One of our favourite touches was a bright, pocket-sized ‘passport’ providing a map and timetable of interactive Food Month events – from gin masterclasses to cheese-making workshops.
