CDKN and ODI – The Future Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction

The Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) is a Department for International Development (DfID) funded project, which aims to help decision-makers in developing countries to design and deliver climate-compatible development.

The Overseas Development Institute (ODI) is the UK’s leading independent think tank on international development and humanitarian issues.

CDKN and ODI collaborated to develop ‘The Future Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction: A guide for decision-makers’. The guide, which was designed and typeset by Soapbox, includes a series of infographics, data visualisations and maps that support key recommendations for disaster risk reduction (DRR).

The infographics highlight the central messages that CDKN and ODI felt should be covered by the new DRR framework agreed in Sendai, Japan in March 2015 at the World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction. These assets were shared widely on social media, which helped CDKN and ODI promote their research to a wider audience.
