ODI rebrand

ODI – the Overseas Development Institute – is a leading independent think tank that conducts and published research on international development and humanitarian issues.

The organisation had decided to drop the full name ‘Overseas Development Institute’ and Soapbox was asked to run a rebranding project with the aim of both emphasising the new, shorted name, ‘ODI’, and creating a stronger corporate identity that could encompass all 14 of ODI’s global projects. We conducted a series of workshops and interviews with around 30 stakeholders and staff inside the organisation and worked with ODI’s communications team to create a new logo, colour palette, typography and graphic style, which we set out in detailed brand guidelines.

Having rebranded ODI, we then went on to roll out the new visual identity across a range of publications and the new ODI website.
