Improving the student experience for Imperial College’s Graduate School
Over the past four years, we’ve established a close working relationship with Imperial College London, one of the UK’s leading universities for the study of sciences, medicine, engineering and business, who have a global reputation for excellence in research.
In 2016, we worked with Imperial’s Graduate School to refresh their visual identity and thus improve the postgraduate student experience. Working within the college’s existing brand guidelines, we created an engaging and flexible identity centred on the fundamental focuses of the School: the journey the students go on throughout their time at Imperial and the broad range of subjects they study. As part of this new identity, we produced a flexible set of brand assets, including ribbon devices to promote the idea of the identity flowing through print materials, digital work and Imperial’s physical environments. These assets were then combined with a set of bespoke icons to mark out different areas of study.
We have since produced a wide range of materials in this new identity, including pop-up banners, leaflets, reports, guidebooks and branded graphics for physical display. In 2017 the Graduate School won the Student Experience award at the Guardian University awards.
