We are looking for a brand strategist with a good understanding of cross-platform communications to inject even greater evidence-based strategic thinking into our branding practice. This means building your skills across all areas of our offer, from design to digital, working in partnership with colleagues to turn insights and strategy into compelling creative work.
You’ll be involved with projects from start to finish, creating clear objectives and working closely with the team to ensure the strategic vision is delivered. You will work closely with other colleagues but need to be a self-starter and able to work autonomously without close direction. Excellent verbal and written communication is required to conduct research and write detailed analysis and brand recommendations to form a strategic framework for design.
You will be responsible for conducting the research and analysis elements of branding projects, including:
- Running workshops and interviewing client stakeholders to understand their values and desired positioning;
- Writing creative and strategic briefs;
- Audience mapping and user research;
- Competitor analysis;
- Synthesising and presenting research findings and recommendations;
- Creating tone of voice guidelines and brand strategy documentation.
Strong sector knowledge: You need to understand the unique needs of our clients, their challenges and opportunities, and know how to engage effectively with communications professionals. You should be aware of sector trends, and technological developments influencing the way brands interact with their customers.
Personable: You’ll be working with people from a range of backgrounds and levels of seniority, including senior client stakeholders. You’ll need to be calm and collaborative, and able to confidently run workshops and one-to-one interviews. Working alongside the creative team, you’ll be expected to contribute to brainstorms and team meetings and develop strategies collaboratively.
Communication and strategy skills: Ideally you should have experience of working in brand, marketing, or content strategy. A degree or work experience in strategy or communications would be a plus. You need to be a natural writer, but with the confidence to run workshops, chair passionate debates, and draw people into conversation. You need to be able to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
Research and organisational skills: You need to be able to plan out, execute, and adapt your approach to information gathering, research and analysis. Working within the project team, you’ll be relied upon to provide your work on time and to back up your findings with research and data.
The successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK by the start of their employment.
We offer a competitive salary and a good benefits package with some great perks, including:
- 25 days holiday per year plus Christmas closure
- Cycle to work loans
- Pension scheme
- Flexitime working around core hours
- Family friendly policies
