Pearson – ‘Charting Equity in Higher Education’ report

‘Charting Equity in Higher Education: Drawing the global access map’ is part of the Pearson Open Ideas series of global thought leadership.

The authors survey existing data sources on inequality in higher education and present in-depth case studies on six key countries: the US, UK, South Africa, Australia, India and Colombia.

The authors found that, although inequalities in higher education around the world are pervasive, there are significant limitations to the data. They recommend a Global Equity Data Charter – a series of actions to be undertaken by institutions, nations, and international organisations to help higher education institutions and governments understand and address inequalities in who benefits from higher education.

Soapbox designed a bespoke publication for Pearson, featuring a customised table on social indicators. To complement the report’s narrative we also created several unique illustrations, which split away to show scenes and individuals that are not represented in the data.
