Imperial College London Library Services brand refresh
Imperial College London is one the UK’s leading universities for science, medicine, engineering and business, and has a global reputation for excellence in teaching and research.
In 2014 Soapbox worked with the College to refresh and update the visual identity of its central library. The aim of this exercise was to promote the services on offer more clearly and, in particular, to ensure new and existing students were aware of how the librarians’ expertise can help them in carrying out research.
Soapbox designers created a distinctive visual identity for Imperial’s Library Services, in keeping with the College’s corporate branding. This used a set of icons to create a recognisable and easy-to-use visual language.
The identity was codified in a set of brand guidelines and was then rolled out across a suite of materials including pop-up banners, reference and citation guides, as well as handy travel card wallets.
