British Academy Review redesign
The British Academy is the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences.
Soapbox were commissioned to redesign the Academy’s Review, their flagship magazine, which features articles from across its wide range of scholarship activities.
We worked closely with the British Academy’s editor in chief to ensure that the new designs were in keeping with the Review’s established tone and structure. We explored using distinctive typography and a variety of columns and spacing to give a more refined look. Navigation through the issue is guided by simple, bold motifs which define particular sections such as interviews, archival stories and editors’ notes.
